| Food and wine from this region are a gourmet’s delight. With the prolific Mediterranean on its doorstep, fish is inevitably the number one choice, although there are many delicious varieties of local pasta. Within the village of Scopello lie a wonderful restaurant, cafes and a few local shops. Easily reached is an organic market where fresh produce is picked hourly from the surrounding fields. It would also be a great injustice not to mention the ‘Tonnara’, a disused Tuna fishery with its now infamous sea views and the ‘Lo Zingaro’ National Park; a seven kilometre long line of magnificent inlets, grottoes, low reefs and fantastic sandy coves. |
